Title Industry Conferences

While it looks a lot like summer outside (especially here in Texas!), we’re really just on the doorstep of a season we haven’t seen in far too long.

Conference season!

Early fall is usually the time of year when the various state Land Title Associations as well as national entities, like ALTA or MBA, hold their annual title industry conferences and conventions. But we didn’t get to experience that fully (yes, yes…virtual conferences) in 2020. As a result, a lot of the intangibles that go with a face-to-face and person-to-person experience went by the wayside last year.

First, of course, there’s the content. While we all read (scan?) the great information available from folks like those at ALTA for trends, updates and news, there’s still nothing like hearing about it—as well as various perspectives—in person at a convention. And the learning doesn’t stop on stage or in the breakout sessions. A lot of great things can be learned from the exhibit hall, too.

And then there’s the networking. One thing the virtual conferences made a noble effort to reproduce—but just couldn’t quite capture—was the hallway, exhibit hall and cocktail hour chatter. The conversations that can’t be printed. The news that isn’t quite ready to print…yet. The networking that leads to partnerships or new business. We give credit to the trade associations and publications for getting creative in their efforts to reproduce those nuances. But there’s still nothing like meeting a potential business partner through a mutual acquaintance at a conference networking event.

Whether it’s at ALTA ONE, the Texas Land Title Association annual or any of your other favorite title and settlement services events, we hope to catch up with old friends and make some new contacts as well.
